hungry
deuteronomy 8.3 So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD.
job 23.12 I have not departed from the commandment of His lips; I have treasured the words of His mouth more than my necessary food.
revelation 3.20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.
matthew 6.11 Give us this day our daily bread.
exodus 16.18-20 Every man had gathered according to each one’s need. And Moses said, “Let no one leave any of it till morning.†Notwithstanding they did not heed Moses. But some of them left part of it until morning, and it bred worms and stank.

i think our hunger for God’s Word works just like our conscience. the Holy Ghost speaks clearly to us through our conscience, but if we ignore him at all…the voice gets softer & softer til we can’t hear it. ask God right now to give you a keener sense for your spirit’s appetite than for your physical needs – he’ll work a miracle for anyone who truly desires this.
part of the reason that the witness of the Spirit is drowned out on the world’s airwaves and TVs and articles and theaters today is because for years men and women in the world have been speaking out of real human appetites – and appealing to people who are hungry. people in the world watch and listen to and read and buy what compels them. meanwhile many of God’s people have let their spiritual appetites dwindle to bare survival rations. so when we speak, there is no deep calling unto deep. no one is fooled: day-old bread is a huge turn-off. week-old bread is worse. etc.
for the voice of God to truly be heard coming pouring out of our mouths and lives, we need our ears radically opened to that still small voice that calls us every day to come and dine with our God >>
thank you glen
I read this verse this morning. Praying that God would increase my thirst and hunger for Him. May all our appetites be in Him. Lord Bless…
Psalm 63
1 You, God, are my God,
earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you,
my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land
where there is no water.
I thought about this verse when you wrote about hunger
—–Matt 5:6–
Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.
Ps. Do you wanna give the lyrics for Judah to me???
It would be fun to cover it!
