Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.

zechariah 4.11-14 Then I answered and said to him, “What are these two olive trees—at the right of the lampstand and at its left?” And I further answered and said to him, “What are these two olive branches that drip into the receptacles of the two gold pipes from which the golden oil drains?” Then he answered me and said, “Do you not know what these are?” And I said, “No, my lord.” So he said, “These are the two anointed ones, who stand beside the Lord of the whole earth.”

leviticus 24.2-4 Command the children of Israel that they bring to you pure oil of pressed olives for the light, to make the lamps burn continually. Outside the veil of the Testimony, in the tabernacle of meeting, Aaron shall be in charge of it from evening until morning before the LORD continually; it shall be a statute forever in your generations. He shall be in charge of the lamps on the pure gold lampstand before the LORD continually.

the anointing is valuable, tangible, and precious beyond description. the supply of the Holy Spirit that produces the vital life-changing experience of the presence of God is worth everything to me. when God tells us to seek first his kingdom and his righteousness - when God tells us to sell all we have to we can buy the field the treasure is hidden - this is what he refers to. this is the ongoing entrance he ministers to us into the eternal Kingdom, into the realm of the spiritual: this flow of every good and perfect gift the proceeds from the Father of Lights.
