leviticus 6.12-13 And the fire on the altar shall be kept burning on it; it shall not be put out. And the priest shall burn wood on it every morning, and lay the burnt offering in order on it; and he shall burn on it the fat of the peace offerings. A fire shall always be burning on the altar; it shall never go out.

luke 12.35-36 Let your waist be girded and your lamps burning; and you yourselves be like men who wait for their master.

remember that God lights the fire on the altar. he did it in the Old Testament, and he does it in the New. the fire that is lit up in your innermost being when God first baptizes you in the Holy Spirit is supernatural holy fire. it is God’s divine passion and his deepest desires ignited in you. this is something no man can produce.

never take the fire for granted. thank God for it continually, it is tangible proof of the life of God in you. tend to it, just as the priests laid wood on the altar without fail every morning. no matter what any man thinks his ministry is before man, remember that each one of us has a primary ministry: to minister directly to the Lord. Today is a holy day…it is the day the Lord has made…it is the day of salvation – fan into flame the gift that was imparted >>
