always new

The Bible looks like a book. It’s bigger than most books, but you could easily be fooled into thinking it’s a book. And you could easily read it cover to cover one or two or even three times in a single year, then put it down and consider yourself an expert on it. You might even think you’ve mastered the information it contains. Then if you want to stay active in your religion, you might start reading lots of books about the Bible. If you had an hour to spend reading, you might easily choose a book about the Bible over the Bible itself.

Yet the Word of God is unlike any other writing, any other information. It is living, it is active, it is razor sharp. It can go where no one’s intellect or imagination or insight or passion can take you. It goes far beyond a collection of spiritual writings; it even goes past being God’s thoughts captured for us to study. Every time you open God’s Word it rings out with the voice of God himself; it sounds as fresh and as strong as the first time any man heard God speak it.

If you’ve never experienced this personally, or you experienced it at some level in the past but allowed yourself to grow at all numb - take this as the Holy Spirit tugging nice and hard on your heart. Log off man’s thoughts about God and dive into hearing God speak for himself >>

Sometimes I feel like your words are coming for me and me alone, and I know that it is the Spirit that is speaking to me through your declarations. I praise God for you.
