Matthew 6.21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Psalm 119.127 Therefore I love Your commandments more than gold, yes, than fine gold!
2 Timothy 3.16-17 All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Matthew 13.52 Then He said to them, “Therefore every scribe instructed concerning the kingdom of heaven is like a householder who brings out of his treasure things new and old.”

God is right now holding out an opportunity for you to take hold of his word like never before. There is an intimacy, a treasure, an insatiable appetite for knowing God at a deeper level that can only come from feasting on his word. Let God dare you to read entire books of the Bible at a time, read the whole new testament in a week, record yourself singing or reading the Bible and listen to it constantly, memorize whole chapters, buy lots of cheap paperback Bibles and mark them all up, etc. Tell him you’ll do literally anything he puts in your heart. I’d even set aside a day and try to read the entire Bible cover to cover if God whispered that to me..

There is so much more available to us than dutifully dry ‘quiet times’, bible-in-a-decade resolutions, and stale memory verse programs. If you ask God to light a fire in you to desire his word at a level you’ve never experienced up til this point, he will answer by fire. He will give you such an appetite for his word, such a deep passion - you won’t be able to go even a couple hours without a taste of his word. In 3 or 4 years you’ll look back on where you’re at now and wonder how you got by on survival rations!

Everything in the realms of the kingdom of God functions by the Spirit of God and by the Word of God. What better way is there to soak yourself in Holy Ghost kerosene and dive deep into the communion of the Father and the Son than to let God put a consuming passion for his word in you?
