…ACCORDING TO THE SPIRIT OF HOLINESS

Romans 1.3-5 Concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; And declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the Spirit of Holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: By whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name.
Acts 2.24 Whom God has raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be held by it.
Hebrews 7.15-16 There arises another priest, Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
Acts 13.34-39 And that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption, so he said, I will give you the sure mercies of David. Therefore he says also in another psalm, You shall not suffer your Holy One to see corruption. For David, after he had served his own generation by the will of God, fell asleep, and was gathered to his fathers, and saw corruption: But he, whom God raised again, saw no corruption. Therefore let it be known to you, men and brothers, that through this man is preached unto you the remission of sins: And by him all that believe are made righteous from all things, from which you could not be made righteous by the law of Moses.
Romans 6.9-11 Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dies no more; death has no more dominion over him. For in that he died, he died unto sin once: but in that he lives, he lives unto God. Likewise reckon yourselves also to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Holiness will never decay. Father’s declaration that Jesus Christ is his Son was made definitively in Jesus’ physical resurrection from the dead. Death literally had no holding power or claim on Father’s Holy One. Sin mutilated, mocked and suffocated Jesus on the cross; yet because he was uncompromisingly obedient all the way to the point of death – sin, death, corruption, and hell are now forever absolutely powerless before him.

Jesus declared the night before he was crucified that the world must know that as his Father commanded him, so he did. This is the obedience to the faith Paul now projects out into all nations, all creation. This was the consecration Jesus lived in, according to the Spirit of Holiness. Christ’s resurrection ensures that many sons are now brought to the glory of his consecration, his incorruptibility, his holiness, his obedience, his life.
