the baseball bat pt.1
So last week somewhere deep in the comments of “lunch money,” I wrote that it was clear that Jesus came to school with a baseball bat. In other words, there was a reason the devil could never take his lunch money. He came to destroy the works of the devil, not just to hopefully minimize his influence. I’d like to start going deeper on that..
YOU HAVE OVERCOME THE WICKED ONE
1 John 2.14 I have written unto you, fathers, because you have known him that is from the beginning. I have written unto you, young men, because you are strong, and the word of God abides in you, and you have overcome the wicked one.
Psalm 12.6 The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times.
1 John 5.4-5 For whatever is born of God overcomes the world: and this is the victory that overcomes the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcomes the world, but he that believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
2 Peter 2.19 While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage.
Romans 6.14 For sin shall not have dominion over you.
John 1.4-5 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in darkness; and the darkness cannot overcome it.
Revelation 3.21 To him that overcomes I will grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and have sat down with my Father in his throne.
Revelation 12.10-11 Now is come salvation, and strength, and the kingdom of our God, and the power of his Christ: for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night. And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony.
Overcome, overcome, overcome, overcome. Sound like a baseball bat?
For this reason, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them!
Who are the overcomers!? They take place in the firstborn. They are at union with Him. God’s intent for man from the beginning. They are now redeemed.
Thank you Jesus Christ for what You have done! We now see our Father and He sees us clothed. We worship You, for we are Your people and You are our God.

What I’m looking to do is play this all in slow-motion, so it’s absolutely plain that Jesus didn’t ever intend to retire his baseball bat when he ascended. Read the verses surrounding everything I just quoted (Hebrews 2, Colossians 2, Ephesians 1 & 4)…notice anything about Jesus handing out bats?

Glen, homes. Dude. Homie g funk. I think this matter is a pressing issue the Lord has been putting out in front of His people. I’m coming before the Lord with this very thing you have brought up and thank you for doing it. Oh yea, and I will try to chill out on the posting
Incredibly pressing! What we’re talking about is the word of righteousness. Standing your ground in the face of all hell isn’t a matter of human tenacity. And advancing the kingdom of God really has nothing to do with human bravado. There is real skill involved, a skill we’ve absolutely got to have that goes way beyond man’s ability.
Father desires so intensely that we be willing to rise up from the place we’ve been living, come sit at his feet, and learn what only he can teach.
Right on! I truly desire to know Him more and more. I only want to take from Jesus. Nothing from myself or man. What has taken place is a mindset of eternal impact when it comes to His kingdom, His people. What really has value with the Lord? We cannot continue to drag the heavenly into the compass of the worldly. The Holy Spirit is vast! You cannot comprehend! And we are trying to direct Him?!
But what is standing out with me now is victory. And it is somehow linked with this very thing you have brought up. I’ve told Papa i truly desire His will. I didn’t know what I was getting myself into
I just pray we will set our eyes upon Jesus. Humble ourselves before Him. Allow Him to move as He desires. Let Him prune us. Let the purity flow into and overflow.
Amennnn. We’ve already got his purity, his victory. Now it’s all in coming to him totally yielded and humble, always being an easy touch. Coming to him hungry, thirsty, contrite; knowing we get whatever we ask in that place.
25 At that time Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that You have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to babes. 26 Even so, Father, for so it seemed good in Your sight. 27 All things have been delivered to Me by My Father, and no one knows the Son except the Father. Nor does anyone know the Father except the Son, and the one to whom the Son wills to reveal Him. 28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
Oh this is good. Psalm 119 - in verse 1 or 2 it says the righteous “crave Him.” (Amplified. Beef craves meat. That is cool.
