What’s the difference between the wisdom Solomon writes about in the book of Ecclesiastes and the wisdom of Proverbs?

Proverbs = practical Godly wisdom for everyday life
Ecclesiastes = The END of human wisdom

Yes - you’ve got Proverbs 8, where wisdom speaks almost as a personification of Christ - compared to Ecclesiastes 1.

God gave Solomon divine wisdom, but his life definitely shows that Wisdom won’t operate outside of God. How can you tell Wisdom from wisdom?

The Wisdom of God is Christ crucified. Who in their natural mind would say “I want to be conformed to the death of someone who was nailed to a cross.”? Something of the resurection has be there first.

It is possible to know Christ and the power of his resurrection; and this goes way beyond my human ability to fill in a blank or guess the right multiple choice question.

Human wisdom plays in the realm of the things of God, but it cannot go into that place where we have an anointing from the Holy One and we know all things. It is not subject to God, and couldn’t be even if it wanted to.

There is a hidden wisdom, the wisdom of God in a mystery. There is hidden manna. It’s not found in bullet points or bible trivia, neither is it found in intellectual untangling or reading between the lines. It is found in dwelling in the secret place, abiding in the shadow of the Almighty.

Solomon began in this place. He was singled out as the beloved of the Lord, raised by a man whose heart was after Father’s own heart. He started out hungry and vulnerable - he realized the responsibility of the kingdom of God was being placed in his hands, and he recognized that he desperately lacked the wisdom needed to survive and function in that realm.

Did you realize you have the exact same opportunity available to you?

(I’m asking everybody this because it’s what the Holy Spirit keeps asking me…)
