It’s remarkable that God put everything he ever was, is, and will be, in a human body. It’s even more remarkable observing how God conducts himself when he’s in the world. Jesus continually testified that he did nothing of himself, and he said nothing of himself. He insisted repeatedly that he spoke only what he heard from the Father, what he was commanded to speak.

By the time that Jesus was about to leave the world, he prepared his disciples for the coming of the Holy Ghost - the Paraclete (advocate, comforter, intercessor, counselor, mediator, spokesman). It is amazing to see that the Holy Ghost behaves just like Jesus. He speaks nothing of himself, but only what he hears. He takes what belongs to Jesus and reveals it to us, just as Jesus takes what belongs to the Father and reveals the Father to us.

So this is how God conducts himself in the world. He does not speak of himself, does not speak on his own. Every single word that proceeds from God’s mouth is commanded, revealed; a gift not to be added to or drawn back from. How about what comes out of our mouths? What if we learned to speak only what we’ve heard from the Father?

If we only spoke what the father told us to speak I think that we would end up hearing even more from him. I;m trying to learn to sit in the silence and peace of the lord and not be so distracted by all the “noise” of the world. thanks for the word its just what i needed to hear.

you see Jesus spending entire nights in prayer. his communication with the Father was intimate and rich in private, so later when Jesus was surrounded by mobs of both needy and manipulative people, his conversation with Father still had more impact on him than anything going on around him. several times in his life that conversation went public! Jesus would speak out loud directly to Father, and Father would either answer audibly or confirm Jesus’ word with an undeniable miracle.

one other thing Jesus pointed out was that he deliberately would not accept honor or testimony about himself from men. he told the pharisees that receiving honor from one another would make them unable to receive the honor that only God can give.

if we constantly are asking Father what he thinks, we won’t be so quick to accept the opinions imposed on us - or even our own opinions. what an amazing opportunity, walking through life with an ongoing Director narrative/commentary >>
